CINNAMON or DALCHINI is a spice that has many wonderful qualities. Cinnamon is the sweet bark of the cinnamon tree. Not only it adds flavour to the food but has medicinal properties too.
  • Cinnamon is a great mouth freshener. If  you have dental caries, you can chew a small piece of cinnamon to act upon the bacteria and control infections. It also freshens your breath.
  • It has an anti clotting properties, so it can be taken in vein thrombosis. It can be taken in foods in any form. You can add it to your food while cooking.
  • It controls cholesterol build up. 
  • It fights acne infections when added in face packs but in very small quantity.

  • Breads baked with cinnamon have a longer shelf life.
  • It controls nausea among pregnant women. It can be used frequently but in moderation in hot season.
  • It fights urinary tract infections which is very common in women. Take it as a decoction or use it in food.
  • Taken as light warm decoction , cinnamon controls gastritis problems and build up in the intestine.
  •  It is good for diabetics. Drink decoction early in the morning on an empty stomach and repeat at 4 in the afternoon to stabilize blood sugar because of its positive effect on hormone insulin.
  • If you suffer from arthritis with inflammation , take cinnamon as a decoction and in your food. The application of oils with added cinnamon can be useful.
HOW TO MAKE DECOCTION
Boil two gram of cinnamon powder in 300 ml of water until this water gets 200 ml. in quantity. Let it stay for a minute and sieve it. Drink it when it is little warm.
